The Players

Name:  Amy       AKA:   The Brit.
Weapon of choice: 4.5mm wooden circular needles.
Most likely to be knitting:  Fish hats. Or toys.  I am actually working on a fish hat for a small cuddly hippo at the moment!
Finished object I am most proud of to date:  hmmm….my lanesplitter. Or my Mario blanket, just for sticking with it through all 335 squares!

Favourite fibre: I love wool, but recently won some gorgeous cashmere and am afraid I may have developed some expensive tastes as a result.
Knitting soundtrack would most definitely include: Sufjan Stevens, The Flaming Lips, Brass Band music, ELO, The Carpenters and Billy Joel!
I would most like to knit a pair of socks for: Guy Garvey
Number of UFO’s on the go (honestly!): 6, I think. Thats how many I can see from where I’m sitting anyway!
Favourite films/TV to knit to: Murder, She Wrote. Agatha Christie adaptations, most stuff on at The Mayfair.
If I can avoid it I hate: working with Mohair.
Don’t tell anyone but: I’ve used fancy fur and still have a couple of balls in the house.
When I’m not knitting I also dabble in: crochet, weaving, bird-watching, X-country skiing, Canoe-camping.
The snack I’m most likely to have on hand for an afternoon of knit-wallowing is: Cheese and crackers. And more Cheese.
If I’m in the pub knitting, buy me a: Cider. Unless its clear I’ve already had one – I’m not so hot with the needles after two!

Name: Emily AKA: “The Enforcer”
Weapon of choice: 3.75mm, 16 inch circular needle
Most likely to be knitting: colour work hats
Finished object I am most proud of to date: Big Blue Boyfriend Hoodie for my big ol’ boyfriend.

Favourite films/TV to knit to: Bones, Degrassi Junior High, Gilmore Girls, MASH, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
If I can avoid it I hate: Cotton
Don’t tell anyone but: I secretly hate the concept of knitting dishcloths.
When I’m not knitting I also dabble in: crochet, writing.
The snack I’m most likely to have on hand for an afternoon of knit-wallowing is: Salt and Vinegar potato chips, and a huge cup of coffee.
If I’m in the pub knitting, buy me a: St. Amboise Apricot Ale (but I’m not really THAT picky)

Name: Julianna AKA: “The Space Cadet”
Weapon of choice: 4.5mm metal 40″ circ (magic loop!)
Most likely to be knitting: Hats!  Or spinning instead of knitting.
Finished object I am most proud of to date: I’m gonna say the “gothic tam” I recently knit.  I rarely finish anything big so hopefully this challenge will change that!
Favourite fibre: Wools, my current faves are Blue Faced Leicester and Polwarth.
Knitting soundtrack would most definitely include: Gypsy music, klezmer and silly songs that I make up or that my friends make up.
I would most like to knit a pair of socks for: David Lynch
Number of UFO’s on the go (honestly!): 5 that have a chance of getting finished and at least 5 more that just haven’t been frogged yet.
Favourite films/TV to knit to: Bones, Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, True Blood, Gilmore Girls, Bored To Death, Wilfred, Star Trek(s), Skins, Northern Exposure and many reality shows.  Jane Austen movies, Twilight, romantic comedies.
If I can avoid it I hate: Plant fibres and synthetic fibres.
Don’t tell anyone but: I still have never finished a sweater!
When I’m not knitting I also dabble in: Spinning!  Drawing, writing, designing, photography.

Jp-i have some finished projects of yours…

    • Julianna says:

If you get a chance, send me “action pics” of you guys wearing them 🙂

They were knit before the challenge started, so I won’t get points for them, but I can add them to my ravelry projects.

    Hi Ladies,
I am so thrilled I finally l stopped by this blog! I went to the store a while ago and was heartbroken to find it empty! You may or may not remember me, I think Julianna may remember me best if any of you do. She taught me to spin when I was given my Ashford Trady.
Anyway, I had nominated Julianna for some blogging awards, and she can totally still have them for her persnonal blog, but you ladies deserve it to!!!
    Check it out here:
