Well, giveaway week actually. This week is the massive blog giveaway day, coordinated by the fabulous SewMamaSew blog.
They amass links to hundreds of blogs, with giveaways of hand-made bags, kids items, plus lots and lots of people offering up craft supplies too. Whilst the majority are fabric orientated (it is a sewing blog after all!), there are also gems of yarn up for grabs, and who amongst us wouldn’t benefit from another project bag?! You can find the links page on their website here.
Those of you who read Knitters Rumble regularly, will know that we are three bloggers – Julianna, Emily and Amy, all completely obsessed with knitting, crochet and spinning. You can read more about us on our players page. We compete (in a mostly friendly way!) to earn points for our projects. The winner at the end of the year will be crowned with a paper crown!
So what treats have the three of us come up with? Well each of us have contributed to come up with a little bounty of fun for the lucky winner.
First up Emily has a pdf of her most popular design – the granny slouch. It is a devilishly wonderful mash up of crochet and knitting, check out how cute this is:
The pattern will be sent as a pdf to the luck winner, so make sure to include an email address we can send it to!
Amy will be hand-crafting one of her fabulous sheepy tape-measure cosies for the lucky winner. You’ll never be short of a measure again with this cheeky chappy, just pull on his tail to release the measure (it doesn’t hurt him honestly!).

It is a Thick and thin single ply handspun yarn, weighing 50g, around 55 yds. This ranges from worsted to bulky and in colour from Electric blue to acid green. It’s a super soft wool and shiny kid mohair that she blended on her drum carder. So so beautiful!

I am currently sewing a zip up hoodie for my daughter. On the side I am working on crocheting a rag rug.
I’m driving my family nuts today. I’m walking back and forth from the sewing machine to the couch as I’m working on two projects. One is a quilt sampler…part of a colour class I took part in, I’m on the sashing so nearly there!!! The other is a ruffly scarf using a ribbon yarn called Marina but Rozetti. I’ve already finished 2 scarves this weekend (seriously quick to knit up) and have started my 3rd. The first two were spoken for and the third is just for me.

I am working on a “Venomous Tentacula” shawl in a merino/silk yarn that I dyed in shades of turquoise and blue. I have made another one with this pattern and I get so many comments when I wear it that I decided I needed to have two.

Knitting the sleeves of the sweater that sat in the basket since Oct 2010, trying to tell me what kind of sleeves it wanted. I finally gave up and now it’s getting the kind of sleeves I settled for. Alas, knitting is a harsh mistress, but when she loves, ah – how she loves!

what am I now working on? I have a twister quilt in progress. I have 2 pairs of knit booties waiting to be sewn. At the moment, I’m making quilt blocks for a sampler quilt. I’m also making window quilts – basically simple tied quilts to hang in the windows to keep out the heat. Also making baby stuff – crocheted afghan, moses basket liner, baby sling. I’m not the sort to only have one project at a time, that would make me feel much too organized! 🙂

What a wonderful giveaway! On my needles now is a knitted bias shawl using various lengths of my yarn scraps. I dumped the balls in a basket and pull one out without looking, attach and knit away. Fun project!

One project? I’m finishing a beaded knit scarf for my sister… a quilt (cut and partially pieced) for the baby, a lap quilt (beginning the cutting) for my parents’ place for July 4th, and 3 more cloth diapers (cut the PUL, haven’t got the rest together yet). I like to have lots at once!

Well, I am finishing up a braided ball for my cousin’s soon-to-be-born first child, along with a pair of baby jane slippers. I also just started an orange hoodie for myself. Great idea! I am spinning a double knit weight 80% BFL/20% silk that was hand dyed by me in soft brown, pale rust and turquoise. I am also knitting the Huggable Hoodie, from Knits That Fit and Flatter book in charcoal grey. Just finished a pair of socks last night and they are on the sock blockers.
