It’s Giveaway Day!!!

Well, giveaway week actually. This week is the massive blog giveaway day, coordinated by the fabulous SewMamaSew blog.

They amass links to hundreds of blogs, with giveaways of hand-made bags, kids items, plus lots and lots of people offering up craft supplies too. Whilst the majority are fabric orientated (it is a sewing blog after all!), there are also gems of yarn up for grabs, and who amongst us wouldn’t benefit from another project bag?! You can find the links page on their website here.

Those of you who read Knitters Rumble regularly, will know that we are three bloggers – Julianna, Emily and Amy, all completely obsessed with knitting, crochet and spinning. You can read more about us on our players page. We compete (in a mostly friendly way!) to earn points for our projects. The winner at the end of the year will be crowned with a  paper crown!

So what treats have the three of us come up with? Well each of us have contributed to come up with a little bounty of fun for the lucky winner.

First up Emily has a pdf of her most popular design – the granny slouch. It is a devilishly wonderful mash up of crochet and knitting, check out how cute this is:

The pattern will be sent as a pdf to the luck winner, so make sure to include an email address we can send it to!

Amy will be hand-crafting one of her fabulous sheepy tape-measure cosies for the lucky winner. You’ll never be short of a measure again with this cheeky chappy, just pull on his tail to release the measure (it doesn’t hurt him honestly!).

And check out the gorgeous handspun that Julianna is adding to the pot:

It is a Thick and thin single ply handspun yarn, weighing 50g, around 55 yds. This ranges from worsted to bulky and in colour from  Electric blue to acid green. It’s a super soft wool and shiny kid mohair that she blended on her drum carder. So so beautiful!

What do you need to do to enter? Nothing complicated, just comment on this post ONCE, letting us know what project you’re working on at the moment. Doesn’t matter if it is knitting, crochet, sewing, balloon-modelling – anything goes! We’d just like to know what you’ll be working on when you stop blog-surfing!The finer details:

  • ONE comment per user please. Multiple comments will be deleted and you won’t be eligible to win.
  • We WILL ship internationally, but just a heads up that we’ll be using cost effective methods to do so! You’re PDF will be with you within days of you winning, the other treats will wing their way to follow.
  • The giveaway is open until May 25 at 5 p.m. PST (8pm EST). The winner will be contacted by May 27th.
  • A random number selector will be used to select the winning comment – good luck!

I was working on a sleeveless chunky-knit cable jumper until today when I decided it was too hot! So I’m going to embroider some towels for a friend (when I’m done entering giveaways, anyway…)
I love your points system, by the way!

  151. Janet says:

Lovely prizes. I don’t crochet but my daughter who is a knitting whiz just learned to crochet so she’ll be making me up the hat if I win 🙂 I have lots of sewing projects on the go but also am working on knitting a pair of fingerless gloves.

Right now I’m making many pillows and plush trying to start my first website…I’m 15 and since no one’s really going to hire me, why not start my own business! teehee Thanks so much for the post ^^

Awesome giveaway! I’m working on a plush dragon that is about 4 1/2 feet long with a 7 foot wingspan – actually 2 of them! When these giant beasts are done, i’m hoping to get back to that aran knit sweater I started many years ago, maybe I can get it done in time for winter this year!

I have a few sewing projects sitting in a pile… and a quilt on the longarm, and I’m not sure what is in my crochet bag…

Right now I’m working on the bloomers that I’m giving away for giveaway day. 🙂

This is a great giveaway! I’m glad for the opportunity and glad to have found your blog!

  164. chimes says:

Thanks for the giveaway! I always participate in giveaway day (with my own giveaway) but was traveling this time around. 😦

I’m still working on my granny square afghan, because, like an idiot, I didn’t weave in the ends as I went along. So I have roughly 1,200 ends to weave in. YIIKES.
